Gorilla Glue® dries up to 100% waterproof and is the right solution for both outdoor and indoor use.

Withstands both sanding, painting and varnishing.

In short – the strongest and most versatile glue on the planet!

More Information About Gorilla Glue®

Gorilla Glue® is ideal for all wood projects where you want optimal strength and water resistance as well as foaming. If you need to glue without foaming, it is recommended to use Gorilla Wood Glue, which glues all wood surfaces without foaming. Foaming increases the strength of the bond by pressing the glue into the pores of the material. If you want a flat and smooth surface of the glued materials, foaming is not desirable.

***
Gorilla Glue® is a moisture-activated, foaming PU adhesive known in some circles as "boiling glue". The original Gorilla Glue® PU adhesive is water and chemical resistant and therefore the obvious choice for all maritime projects.

After just 2 hours, 80% curing has been achieved, which means that you can continue working on your project the same day. After 24 hours, excess glue can be removed with sandpaper and the item can be painted over. During the curing process, Gorilla Glue® foams up by a factor of 4, and it is therefore important that the items are held together well, either with a screw clamp or Gorilla Tape. The clamping during drying means that the glue is pressed completely into the pores of the material and ensures superior strength afterwards.

The cured adhesive resists both water and chemicals without any problems, ideal for projects that must be permanently submerged in water or in contact with chemicals. Light, simple and fantastic strength

Instructions

1. Prepare and moisten surfaces

If you are using original Gorilla Glue for the first time, or you need to glue a new material, we recommend that you always do a test first.

Prepare your surfaces: All surfaces must be clean, dust-free and fit together well. Shiny surfaces such as metals, glass and some types of plastic should be abraded with sandpaper or something else to give the adhesive a good surface to bond to.

Wet it: Gently moisten one of the surfaces with water. We recommend using a damp cloth or misting. Be careful not to saturate the surface. For particularly hard woods, both surfaces should be moistened before gluing.

2. Spread Gorilla Glue evenly on the dry surface

Glue it: Carefully apply the glue to the dry surface. Do not use too much glue. We recommend wearing gloves or spreading the glue with a brush (the brush cannot be reused afterwards). In some cases, Gorilla Glue may affect sensitive skin. If you have had skin reactions in the past, you should be especially careful to take these precautions.

If you get glue on your skin, try to remove it with a dry cloth or paper first (especially if the glue is still liquid). If that doesn't work, try washing with soap and cold water. Carefully use a brush or other suitable product with a coarse-grained surface. Dry your skin and apply moisturizer. We do not recommend using any type of alcohol or acetone as this will actually remove the skin's natural oils, causing the glue to stick even more to your skin.

3. Clamp the two surfaces tightly together

Tighten it: Make sure to tighten evenly across the entire surface. Use clamps, heavy objects, or Gorilla Tape to achieve sufficient pressure. For lighter items, try using rubber bands to hold the items together tightly. Tighten the items for 1-2 hours. For best results, allow the adhesive to cure for 24 hours.

4. Cleaning

If you need to remove excess or uncured glue, we recommend wiping it off with a dry cloth or using regular thinner. Be sure to read and follow the instructions for the thinner if one is used. Always wear gloves. Once the glue is dry, it is best to remove it mechanically: try sanding, filing, scraping, cutting or peeling off the residue. Dry glue will not damage the tool.

5. Storage tips

After each use, wipe the bottle spout and lid thoroughly with a dry cloth. To extend the shelf life, we recommend squeezing the air out of the bottle and putting the lid on tightly while keeping the bottle compressed. Store the glue in a cool, dry place. This will prevent moisture from entering the bottle. You can expect a shelf life of one year for unused glue.

FAQ

In what temperature range can the adhesive be applied?

For best results, the glue should be applied at room temperature. Gorilla Glue should be kept out of the reach of children and animals. For general inquiries or first aid tips, contact gorillaglue@techron.dk – in an emergency, always contact the poison control center at 82 12 12 12 or call 112.

Can the curing time be reduced?

Gorilla Glue should be left in place for 1-2 hours, after which the curing process is approximately 80% complete. After 24 hours, the adhesive is fully cured. Please note that curing time may vary depending on temperature, humidity, and the porosity of the materials being bonded.

Is Gorilla Glue really 100% waterproof?

Yes. Gorilla Glue is 100% waterproof. It meets the requirements of ANSI/HPVA type I and II.

How do I extend the shelf life of Gorilla Glue?

Gorilla Glue is moisture-activated. When the glue comes into contact with moisture, it may begin to harden. To extend the shelf life of the glue, always wipe the lid and spout clean, and close the lid tightly.

My bottle of glue has developed a dry layer on top; can I still use it?

Any glue that is still in liquid form can be used and is reliable. If the dry layer is thin, use a pointed tool to pierce it and carefully pull it out through the lid. Do not microwave the bottle or attempt to heat the bottle to soften the dry layer.

How do I clean up after Gorilla Glue?

Remove excess glue immediately with a dry cloth or ordinary thinner. Do not drag the glue across the material; instead, wipe off the wet glue in small movements. Avoid skin contact. Hardened glue can be removed with a chisel, scraper or sandpaper.

What is the correct clamping time?

When using Gorilla Glue, the objects should be clamped for 1-2 hours. For best results, leave the objects clamped overnight.

What if I don't have any clamping tools?

Gorilla Glue expands as it cures. To ensure the strongest bond, it is necessary to clamp the pieces together. There are many different ways to clamp the pieces together, but remember that the tighter the clamps are, the stronger the bond will be. Professional clamping tools are ideal, but if you don't have any of these available, you can use heavy weights such as books, bricks, tiles, even Gorilla Tape is a good tool. The key is to ensure a tight joint line by applying an even distribution of pressure to the pieces.

How much Gorilla Glue should I apply?

Apply a thin layer of glue. A little glue goes a long way. As a general guide, use approx. 150 ml per m² of surface. Be careful of any glue that may run out when applying pressure to the joint, or wet glue, especially on surface-treated items. If you need to remove wet glue, we recommend wiping it off with a dry cloth or ordinary thinner. Always remember that solvents should be used in well-ventilated conditions. Always wear gloves. Once the glue has dried, it is best removed mechanically; try sanding, leveling, scraping or peeling. The dried glue will not damage your tools.

Why do I need to moisten the items before gluing with Gorilla Glue?

Gorilla Glue is moisture activated – moisture is what causes the chemical reaction in polyurethane adhesives. Therefore, you need to lightly moisten one of the surfaces – then apply glue to the dry surface and press the pieces together. For hardwoods, it is recommended to lightly moisten both surfaces before gluing.

Is it necessary to prepare the surfaces before gluing?

Make sure the surfaces are clean and fit together well. On smooth, shiny surfaces such as metal and plastic, the bond strength can be increased by sanding or otherwise abrading the surface. This gives Gorilla Glue a larger surface area to adhere to.

Is Gorilla Glue really the glue for the toughest tasks on Earth?

Gorilla Glue is a universal adhesive. If used correctly, it will bond almost anything, almost forever. It is solvent and filler free, making it strong and versatile. There are some surfaces and materials that are difficult to bond, such as certain types of plastic. In addition to these materials, we are confident that Gorilla Glue will provide an exceptional, waterproof bond on almost anything.
